Disability Pathways (“DP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an app built for parents and caregivers to navigate life after a child’s disability diagnosis. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Disability Pathways is part of the Guided Pathways family of apps, which also includes Autism Pathways.
Who this app is for
Disability Pathways is designed for use by adults (parents, guardians, and caregivers) managing information on behalf of a child. Accounts are created and controlled by the adult caregiver, not by children. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and (if you sign in with Google or Apple) the name associated with that account. This is used solely to authenticate you and is stored with our authentication provider (Amazon Cognito). Disability Pathways uses its own dedicated authentication system, separate from Autism Pathways.
Child profile information
Information you enter about your child — such as their name, age range, diagnosis or diagnoses, gender/pronouns, and mobility aid needs — is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to or stored on our servers, and it is not shared with Autism Pathways or any other app in the Guided Pathways family.
Provider network information
If you search the Provider Directory, request a connection with a provider, submit a provider review, or register as a provider yourself, that activity is sent to our shared provider network — the same network used by Autism Pathways. This lets one provider directory serve every app in the Guided Pathways family. We do not share your child’s diagnosis or profile information as part of this — only what’s needed to complete the request (for example, your name and contact details if you choose to share them when requesting a connection).
Location
If you use “Near Me” search or location-based provider search, we access your device’s location to find relevant resources near you. This is used only at the moment you request it and is not stored or tracked in the background.
Camera, photo library, and microphone
If you use the Document Vault to upload documents or photos, or record voice notes, we request access to your camera, photo library, or microphone. These files are stored on your device — we do not access or store them on our servers.
Push notifications
If you enable notifications, we use a device push token to send reminders (for example, appeal deadlines or waitlist check-ins). This token is used only to deliver notifications to your device.
What we don’t do
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your data or your child’s data, ever.
Data storage and security
Most of what makes Disability Pathways personal to your family — your child’s profile, diagnosis information, medications, and notes — lives on your device, not in the cloud. Account authentication is handled through Amazon Web Services (Cognito), using a dedicated Disability Pathways environment separate from other apps in the Guided Pathways family.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your authentication record. Because most child profile data is stored locally, deleting the app from your device removes that data as well. You can also delete individual child profiles from within the app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
